As well as SPArkles' broad range of meetings and interest groups, there are a large number of events organised by the National Federation of Women's Institutes (NFWI) and by the Worcestershire Federation (WFWI).

We also participate in local and national events that share our goals and aims as a WI.

Make an A-line skirt

£23 members (does not include fabric)

Learn to sew a basic A-Line skirt. You will cut out the skirt, and fit to size, insert zip, finish seams and hems. We have very limited availability of sewing machines therefore please bring your own sewing machine. Help can be given to you on the basic operation of your sewing machine.

WI DAY at the Races (Worcester)

Gates open at 12:20, first race at 2:20pm and the last race is at 4:50pm

Ticket price includes the following:

Entrance into the County Enclosure, which is the main enclosure including the Grandstand and the parade ring to view the horses before each race.

A marquee as a base for the day, specifically for the use of the WI members and their guests, with its own bar

Afternoon tea with a cup of tea or coffee included

A talk from a tipster before the first race, giving ideas on good horses to follow for the day

Free parking in the centre of the racecourse.
